The aim of the game is to reach the number 21 with a combination of cards.
All face cards (Kings, Queens and Jacks) are all worth ten.
Ace Cards can either be worth one or eleven depending on the combination of cards you have.
Number cards are worth the numbers represented on them.
In a blackjack game you will bet a given amount of money and then click on the ‘Deal’ button, at this point the dealer will give you two cards which will add up to a combination. The dealer will also get two cards, one of which you won’t be able to see.
Now you have the choice to ‘Hit’ or ‘Stand’. If you choose hit then the dealer will give you another card, if you choose ‘Stand’ you will not be given any more cards. This means that you’re happy with the combination you have.
Aim for 17
A good combination is anything above 17, but it’s up to you whether you want to take the chance to hit and aim for 21.
At the end of the hand the Dealer will turn over their hidden card until they better your number or go ‘Bust’. Bust means that the player or dealer has hit a number higher than 21.
Depending on what the dealer hits, you will win the hand. The ratio for Blackjack is 2 to 1, meaning that for every 50 credits you bet you will get 50, leaving you with 100 in total.
If you and the dealer hit the same number it is known as a ‘Push’. In this case both you and the dealer will have your bets returned.
